World Grand Prix (1P Mode)[]

This mode is the main story in this game. You can only pick between the default characters and the exclusive characters, though once you pick a character, you can't change your racer. You play through through 4 cups and every time you start a new cup, the difficulty and your racer level will increase more. At the end of each cup, if you win the elimination round of each cup, you race against one of the unlockable racers. After you complete the three cups, not only you unlock Expert Cup but you also unlock the Legendary Cup, which the difficulty is set to maximum and you race against all characters you've unlocked. In this cup, it will also have a roulette called Legendary Peril Roulette. This will either help or hinder you in your next race. There's also a Peril Race Roulette, which decides the speed of the next race (Example: 100cc to 200cc). In the final race of the legendary cup, after the final intial race, you race against your character's rival, though some characters, like Sonic have two rivals (Example: Sonic vs. Shadow and/or Metal Sonic, NiGHTS vs. Reala, etc.).
